1. Function of locomotive plastic housing
• Protective function: Protect key components such as engines, batteries, and circuits inside the locomotive from damage caused by external factors such as impact, dust, and moisture.
• Weight reduction: Compared to metal materials, plastics are lighter, which helps to reduce the overall weight of the locomotive, improve fuel efficiency or endurance.
• Aesthetic design: The plastic housing can achieve complex shapes and surface treatments through injection molding, enhancing the appearance and texture of the locomotive.
• Corrosion resistance: Plastic materials are not easy to rust and are suitable for being used in damp or rainy environment.
Reduce noise: Plastic has certain shock absorption and sound insulation effects, which can reduce the noise during locomotive operation.

2. Manufacturing process
• Injection molding: Molten plastic is injected into a mold, cooled and molded, suitable for mass production.
• Blow molding: used for manufacturing hollow components, such as fuel tanks.
• Hot pressing molding: suitable for molding thicker plastic sheets.
• 3D printing: used for small batch customization or prototype design.

3. Common problems and solutions
• Easy to aging: Prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause the plastic casing to become brittle or fade. It can be solved by adding anti UV agents or using weather resistant materials.
• Easy to scratch: The surface hardness is low, making it easy to be scratched. It can be improved by surface coating or using materials with higher hardness.
• Deformation: Plastic housings may deform in high-temperature environment. High temperature resistant materials should be selected or heat dissipation design should be added.
