Common applications and characteristics of rubber gaskets in automobiles:
1. Engine system
· Valve cover gasket: used to seal the valve cover and prevent oil leakage.
· Oil pan gasket: installed between the oil pan and the engine block to prevent oil leakage.
· Inlet and exhaust manifold gasket: used to seal the inlet and exhaust manifolds to prevent gas leakage.
2. Suspension system
· Shock absorber gasket: used at the connection between the shock absorber and the vehicle body to reduce vibration and noise.
· Spring washer: installed between the spring and the vehicle body, providing cushioning and shock absorption.
Material of rubber gasket
· Nitrile rubber (NBR): Good oil resistance, commonly used in engines and transmissions.
· Silicone rubber (VMQ): resistant to high temperatures, suitable for high temperature environments.
· Fluororubber (FKM): resistant to high temperatures and chemical corrosion, suitable for harsh environments.
· Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM): Good weather resistance and aging resistance, suitable for body sealing.
Advantages of rubber gaskets
· Good sealing: effectively preventing liquid and gas leakage.
· Shock absorption and noise reduction: reduce vibration and noise, improve comfort.
· Wear resistance and aging resistance: Extend service life.
· Strong adaptability: able to maintain performance under different temperatures and chemical environments.
